Fresh resort with a high standard and very friendly staff. Beautiful beach conveniently distant from villages gives a nice, tranquil flavor to this tastefully designed resort. To my geat surprise food served during my stay was of really good quality and professionally prepared.
Internet was down during my stay :-( ! For a resort with such a high ambitions and pricing, this is not acceptable.

Coming out of your luxurious villa, going through the jungle you find yourself on the virgin natural beach goes miles in each direction. Guest Executive Manager Miss Wathsala always helpful and all smiles make your stay plain super.
Be aware of snakes living in big former termites "houses". Pricy food and drinks, mediocre buffet and a la carte menu, though the Chef may make it tasty on an individual order basis. Waiters from the South of Sri Lanka have a habit to make errors in the bill in favor of the establishment. No spa treatments still.

The hotel is on an excellent location, far enough from the city to get away from the noise and traffic but close enough to go for sightseeing. The beach is simply beautiful! The Pigeon Island national perk is just a step away and the coral reef is a perfect place for snorkeling. The hotel layout is amazing, I really liked how it is integrated into the mangroves. The staff is friendly and supportive, the service completes the real 5 star experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
There are only 2 minor issues I would mention: - The wi-fi coverage over the whole hotel area would need some improvement. - We stayed on the ground floor of a 2 floor chalet and the step-noise of the above guests was a little disturbing. According to the hotel this is already a known issue and they are working on it.

I recently had the most mind-blowing stay at a 5-star beach resort, and let me tell you, it was super luxurious! We were lucky enough to score an upgrade to a beach bungalow for a reasonable price, and boy, was it worth it! Even though we stayed during the off-season in January, our bungalow was clean and cozy. And can we talk about the showers? We had both an exterior and interior shower - talk about jaw-dropping! The breakfast options were absolutely delicious, with a fantastic ala carte selection. And dinner? Oh my goodness, it was out of this world! The variety of options catered to every taste, and the quality was top-notch. But the best part? The staff were friendly, polite, and never intrusive. They made our stay even more enjoyable. And can we just take a moment to appreciate the beach? It was so close to our bungalow, and even though it was a bit windy, the warm water made it possible for us to take a refreshing swim. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to this little slice of paradise!

I recently stayed at Uga Jungle Beach for a few days during my solo trip to Sri Lanka. The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning, with a jungle vibe and nature all around. The staff provided a warm welcome and the service throughout my stay was fantastic. The architecture of the hotel, from the suspended front desk to the beautifully crafted chalets, added to the overall charm. The food at Uga Jungle Beach was out of this world, with the seafood platter being a highlight. The private beach and bar were also a great addition, allowing for peaceful walks and ocean enjoyment. The spa treatments were a lovely way to unwind, accompanied by the soothing sound of a mini waterfall. The attention to detail and sustainability efforts throughout the hotel were impressive. I highly recommend Uga Jungle Beach for a luxurious and nature-filled experience.
I would recommend this hotel.

The spot is really private and peaceful. Make sure to ask the waiter about the daily specials at the restaurant – you won't regret it. the room was spotless with an extremely cozy bed, and the breakfast they served was top-notch! 🌟

Fantastic NEW resort, opened in June 2012. Beautiful luxury rooms, good breakfast and dining. Nice swimming pool. Very friendly staff. Location at the beautiful beach. They can arrange a flight ticket from Colombo (south not international airport) for only 30 euro's per person one-way!
Nothing. Everything was perfect. They are improving there services by having for example parasols at the beach.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
